When getting ready for a face-to-face game these are the physical tools I use.
Hero Lab, Realm Works and my PDF library of adventures, characters and setting material as well as (occasionally) my SFX collection are the online tools I also have primed. I use a lot of images stored in Realm Works and then projected onto a second monitor for the players to see the characters for themselves.
For copyright reasons I will not be sharing this collection of characters and background materials on this website.
Both the players and I give out hero point cards when appropriate (the physical card is to remind players to use them); there are also folded cards with an explanation of how combat works and – via my own house rules – an X card to allow players to indicate if we need to bypass any issues they find distasteful without having to explain as well as combat boost cards (gives + or – 2 points in combat when they score a spectacular roll to hit…)
