Complications
Family: Protective towards his brother Adam and his parents
Monstrous: Though Young Sam was a human, this transformation is permanent, and though he is humanoid, he is dragon-kin. He is instantly noticeable, and it is almost impossible not to been seen in public without a high-profile. Certain people with prejudice or misconceptions may act discriminatory against him. Due to his form, he also needs to maintain a large, protein-based, predator’s diet.
Due to certain animalistic properties of being a draconic person, Sam has both the mind of a human and that of a dragon. Charms and mind effects affecting animals, beasts or humans both affect Sam.
Weakness: All Red chromatic dragons and their kin and servants all despise and have a weakness to cold. Severe environmental cold makes him more uncomfortable than others, and ice and cold based attacks hurt him more significantly.
Not only does Young Sam have a weakness to cold, he has a weakness to mythical ancient weapons and specific modern-day designed anti-dragon weapons.

A story in brief: Sam Meyers, University History Geek.
Consulting the local ye olde pub regarding his dissertation, Sam was pointed in the direction of a popular rockclimbing and pot-holing spot a fair few miles out, in a picturesque location, only surrounded by farm-land. Superstition goes it was home to an ancient Red dragon, such as the kind from the old knights’ tales and such as the kind displayed proudly upon the national flag, but has long since been disregarded as utterly ridiculous.
Not wavering, Sam hastily threw together some rudimentary climbing gear that he thought would be sufficient, he began his journey. Squeezing through small, rocky holes and traversing through the cold, the pitch black, the rough and the wet, Sam continued. Sam proceeded as carefully as his meager beginner skill would allow and inspected the cave, tunnels and nooks for any evidence of anything relevant to his great task, but found only the small traces of previous climbers.
A momentary lapse of concentration and poorly secured equipment was all it took for Sam to suffer a terrible accident, falling an unknown and large distance down into the darkness and onto terrible, jagged stone. Not succumbing to death instantly, Sam clung to life with heavy, pained breaths and surging adrenaline, he was unable to move, his limbs failing. Tears flowed freely as he thought upon his family and his life.
On the precipice of death, a distant low, grumbling chuckle shook Sam. “Little lamb.” A red glow began to dimly illuminate the depths. “Did you get lost?” Sam could only concentrate on breathing. “Pity, a fitting end for such an insignificant creature. I almost feel sorry for you.” The voice grumbling and deep, it held a fancy and sarcastic tone. “I would eat you, but a fine meal you would not make, and lucky for you, I do not hunger. Yet.” Slowly, a giant scaled, lizard like eye blinked just above Sam’s resting place and with a huge golden iris it inspected him carefully. A small silence was shared between them. “I have, perhaps, another fate in mind for you, whelp.” Sam was then deafened by a tremendous roar and was blinded, consumed by a wave of terrible blistering flame, and in a moment, Sam’s vision faded to the infinite black…
“Rise, young wyrmling.” The voice interrupted. “Rise, god-damned you, thing.” the voice repeated, more irritated. Eventually, Sam rose, renewed miraculously. Sam’s body felt totally alien to him, he had experienced a transformation of some kind but had little time to inspect. “Good. It is time I formally introduced myself, I am Tiamente, the last ancient Red Dragon… And you, Young Wyrmling, you are now my faithful, undeserving, eternal servant and subject.”
Young Sam never did finish his dissertation. Certain secrets and myths are never meant to be researched or found. Young Sam lives only due to good fortune and the whimsy of a great power. Young Sam was both Sam Meyers still, yet now this “Young Wyrmling” also. He stayed and trained with Tiamente at their underground home and hoard for three years. But these years seem short and the passing of time a very small loss to those blessed with the blood of the Dragon. Over time, Young Sam became accustomed to his new physical body and powers bestowed.
Patience wavering, Tiamente released Young Sam and granted his freedom, on condition that he develops upon his granted powers and respects the traditions of the Red Dragons. This means: whenever possible, returns proper tribute, sacrifice and contribution to his patron and liege.
While Young Sam has neither regained contact with his human parents, nor his university or made visit to his permanent dwelling, he immediately sought ways to earn an income and make progress towards his duty. One thought that sprung to mind was sign up for the Hero Certification Programme, to enable to use of his Powers, to
begin to earn additional income and to gain additional leads into good opportunities.
It is at this point we join the emerging story of Young Sam, a well-meaning geek fresh out of training and licensing with great responsibilities towards the people, and an even greater, darker task looming.
