Pure research facility set up by Doctor Challenger-Wildeman to research and monitor the unusual, including charting and monitoring spatial gates and paratime anomalies. ARC is used by a number of agencies around the world to carry out independent research and testing of unusual or exotic artefacts.
The ARC is a state-of the-art base of operations for the ARC team tasked by Challenger-Wildeman Technologies with tracking, researching and containing Artefacts and Anomalies as well as any unclassified biologicals including dangerous creatures.
Operation area:
This is the largest room at ARC. The Anomaly and Artefact Detection Device (AAD unit) is housed in the centre. Around the edge of the room is a sloped ramp that lead to the offices, also features a vehicle entrance.
The outer rim walkway faces into the central room. It leads from the vehicle entrance, up onto the second floor of the building. Guards are often seen walking along the walkway on security patrols. The walkways are designed as a safe area, out of reach of any creatures or effects that may find there way into the main room.
Armoury:
The armoury is where the weapons of the ARC team are kept, for use by the field team and the Special Forces Soldiers. Some of the things stored in the armoury is scuba-diving gear and other mobility equipment. Other, more standard, guns and equipment are also stored here.
ARC laboratories:
There are a number of labs inside the ARC; many of the labs are manned by the ARC scientists and include a new temperature-controlled lab where a number of unique tropical plants are grown and tested.
Offices:
The sloping ramp in the operations room lead to a suite of offices. There is a landing outside the office doors that overlooks the Ops room.
Recreation rooms:
The rest room is where the core team can chill out after a mission. There is a large sofa, and several games consoles. There is also a kitchen to the rear of the room which is used by the core team as well as the other members of the ARC staff. Directly across the hall is a gym and the team’s locker room.
Car park:
A set of doors in the operations room lead into the ARC’s indoor car park, this is where the team’s pick-up trucks and grav-mules are parked. It is known that a containment vehicle could fit in this car park, as thiss where a Columbian Mammoth was temporarily kept. There is another interior car park that lead into the main ARC hallway. The outside car park is used by other staff; this car park is an area behind the ARC.
Hallway:
The hallway lead up to the main operations room. It also gave access to almost all other rooms.
Other areas:
The ARC is a large anonymous-looking building and not much is publicly known. Other rooms in the ARC include research and storage areas, contamination secure research wings, canteen, soldier’s barracks and shower facilities. There is also a creature containment facility (The menagerie).
ARC is managed by Professor Tanya Weyland on behalf of the Challenger-Wildeman Foundation.
