Bluebook Session 40d – The Once and Future…

Summer Solstice, 2018

BBC Breakfast – “And breaking news, we are getting reports in that the  Summer Solstice festivities at Stonehenge this morning were disturbed just as the sun rose above the stones. At dawn just as the central Altar stone aligned with the Slaughter stone, Heel stone and the rising sun to the northeast a flare of light momentarily blinded the thousands of visitors and gathered druids only to reveal a man standing on the altar dressed in medieval armour and brandishing a sword…”

The news studio feed cuts to video footage, obviously shot on a mobile phone. It showed a man stepping out of the light His eyes fluttered open, the light from above apparently stinging as though he had slept an eternity. Looking about, his mailed hand rose to shield his sensitive gaze from the blinding light, he sees the surrounding stones towering above—monolithic sentinels with him at their centre. A startled gasp followed by a piercing scream drew his attention to a nearby group of oddly dressed people, all of whom were listening to a man who motioned to the stones about them as though delivering a sermon or lesson.

The man on the stone pointed at the man, the chief Druid, “You there, scholar” the apparently newly awoken man spoke, his booming voice betraying his familiarity with command. “What year is this?” The shrieking reply he received before the people fled in all directions with terror drove his eyes wide with surprise. “By Jesu” the man exclaimed, “how long have I slumbered?”

The video ends as the presenter continues, “The man claims to be the Once and Future King, Arthur Pendragon and was wielding a medieval sword which he proclaimed to be the weapon of both kings and legend, Excalibur.  The man was subsequently arrested…”

August 2018

BBC Breakfast News – “The man, who mysteriously first appeared at Stonehenge during the Summer Solstice, yesterday laid claim to the throne of England (though not that of the United Kingdom). He has also said that he is gathering the resurrected warriors of the Round Table in order to defend the Kingdom from future threats. Those wishing to apply will need to prove to ‘his majesty’ that they are the living souls of his knights. He intends that in obedience to the law that all of his knights would be HCP registered…

Already, several people who saw the stranger wielding the sword at Stonehenge have stated that it was as though a fog lifted from their minds as memories of events and feelings they claim relate to King Arthur have come flooding back.

The unidentified man, who has said he wants to known as King Arthur Pendragon, has said that the power of the sword would reveal who in fact are the reincarnated Knights of the Round Table.”

December 2018 – Winter Solstice

“A new hero team has been launched today. Calling themselves the New Knights, the team is being financed by an anonymous benefactor. The team will consist only of non-Metas, will use non-lethal weaponry and advanced armour and will be based out of a Cornwall base of operations they have renamed New Camelot.

At the apparent request of the Royal Family, Arthur Pendragon has said that for the moment he is not pushing his claim on the throne and will not refer to himself as ‘King’ preferring to refer to himself only by the HCP title ‘Rex’. Other team members of the team will consist of Gawain, Lancelot, Tristan and Guinevere who will use advanced power armour and the cyborg Galahad.

They will be supported and advised by a young man who claims to be the reincarnated Merlin and a mystic.”
