Jeeves stood nervously behind Annie’s chair, aware that her window of opportunity was closing fast.
Annie had previously tried searching for the information that Jeeves needed, on all of the online servers she could trace related to their quarry, only to conclude that the information had to be stored in an off-line server at his home. That left only two options; either Annie had to break in to his house and ‘access’ the information directly or… Instead, she’d waited, this had to be timed exactly. If she could access the isolated server as their target was logging in on his home network, there was a possibility that all aspects of his computer system were online at the same time before his security system locked down and isolated the internal server automatically.
She had to time this perfectly. From the time he switched on his home computer to go online she had at most a couple of seconds to hack the firewall, switch on or access the internal server and download the information they needed.
She had sat for almost three hours in anticipation. Her android body showed no sign of anxiety or boredom then… Her fingers danced, speeding unwatched across the keyboard. Her timing had to be very precise. Then a couple of seconds later a big smile crossed her face as she clapped her hands together,
“Success! Hah, who’s the daddy, eh? Ok so what Gordon Ramsey didn’t include in Mary’s favourite recipe is that you separate out the egg yolks from the white, mix paprika with the yolks then beat them separately before recombining them with half a spoon of honey and a tablespoonful of cognac…”
