Mary spent a few days getting used to the new surroundings – catching-up on names and inter-relationships amongst the street-people, picking up the reins from her predecessor whilst trying not to unnerve any of her ‘flock’ by any signs of ignorance or lack of confidence – and also trying to get a feel for this new world in general.

– Primary Characters in and around Container Town
Jeeves (and Rascal the dog) – Schizophrenic, ex-butler. Originally SAS until medical discharge then he went on tp become personal manservant to Phillip Holmwood – Lord Godalming, he was sacked about six months ago after a confrontation with Godalming’s daughter Lady Tabitha Holmwood – whatever happened left Jeeves schizophrenic and believing himself tormented by (and talking back to) invisible imps. He ended up on the streets living by begging with his dog Rascal and his slight of hand tricks (and Rascal’s) made him a popular attraction in the park area of Port Meadow. He often claims that Tabitha Holmwood (lady God-Damning) had been possessed by a devil. He lives in Container Town and is a friend of Mother Weirdigan and very protective of Mary.
Albert – so called because he resembles Albert Einstein – Once a scientist, he has established the alternative energy network at Container Town as well as the recycled water system used by the residents – when not drunk on White Lightning Cider – he drinks to forget the loss of his family in a supers battle – he is a genius in several fields and it is rumoured that he was once a chief researcher at Grant Conglomerates. Now he will not work on anything that requires anything smaller than a spanner.
Big-Hearted Bertha – She is the “mother” of Container Town and lives with (and looks after) Albert. Good hearted born again Christian.
“Lord Lucan” – looks like his namesake, he is a crude and nasty person who hangs around with Willie Cleaver and Horny Harry (who often sleep at his container but haven’t been accepted into the community due to their anti-social behaviour).
Ben Bishop – old man with full white beard, ex-alcoholic he runs the local soup kitchen and food bank and volunteers at the Martyr on the Hill Church, Port Meadow, Wessex. He hasn’t visited Container Town but knows there is a community there.
Painless Pete (not homeless but well-known by the residents) – Main tattooist at Hip Trendz (New School Inspired Tattoo and Body Piercing Parlour) a money-laundering front for the West-X6 streetgang controlled by Bajas Daerc. Informer (when pressurised) who seems to know everything about the street scene in Wessex. His homeless off and on again boyfriend is ‘Pettyboy’ Petra, an occasional male prostitute and drug user who hopes to be accepted by the inhabitants of Container Town but most feel he is too much of a risk. He currently lives (when not high) with Painless above the tattoo parlour.
Douche – White male, late 20’s green mohawk – local drug dealer, willing to sell anything to anyone. Currently barred from Container Town.
Father John, hip young priest at the Martyr on the Hill Church, he occasionally drops off parcels of food and clothes for the homeless at Container Town and prays with Big Hearted Bertha…
Jim Gordon, newest and one of the youngest inhabitant of Container Town – he attracts young female runaways but they never seem to hang around for long before vanishing which is starting to draw attention and often seen going around with Cleaver a local dealer for the West X6 gang (and a member (read thug) of the Anti-MetaHuman League) – Cleaver’s father, Willie is a resident of Container Town and is a well-liked but life-long alcoholic.

Jamaican Tommy came in and sat down on the floor of Mary’s container – in a pseudo-Jamacan accent he said he’d called in some favours with some local hackers he knew (he admitted that they were with the Hackivist commune in London).
According to his contact the calls to Police by the hospital staff about Mallory were apparently intercepted and someone pretended to be Superintendent Julia Cunningham of CI-5 claimed the matter was in hand and there would be no further action. In addition all of Mallory Brooks online records must have been simultaneously deleted so cleverly it was as though they never existed.
Received over Trouble Alert – Death Metal had escaped from her Police transport the same night she was arrested, before Enforcement could arrive with power dampeners and is believed to be hiding out in Wessex. She is considered extremely dangerous and should not be approached.
Received over Trouble Alert – There have been no trace of Angelique St. Marie however the Power Corps have recently resurfaced carrying out a jewellry robbery in Cannes a few hours ago.
News story – People have been advised to stay away from Birmingham chasm and the whole city is being treated as a disaster area – whilst the incident caused multiple deaths both in the intersection between the segment of the city that disappeared and the areas left unaffected as well as people who died as a result of power cuts and gas explosions.
Some scientists have suggested that the crater may be the result of some sort of anti-matter bomb whilst others have suggested some form of teleportation or transportation possibly into space might account for the complete disappearance of such a large area of land and property.
A funeral service for the people who have vanished is planned for the end of the week. In the meantime King Charles had arranged a personal visit to the site to meet with survivors who’d been on the Edge.
